Congratulations are in order for Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie – the couple have welcomed their second child together.
Morena, who starred in film Firefly, and her The OC actor husband Ben, 42, announced their happy news on social media on Tuesday.
The actress, 41, wrote in an Instagram post: ‘2021 is looking up. Welcome to the world Arthur. Trust us, you haven’t missed much yet.’
Delighted with the new addition to his family, Ben posted: ‘Welcome to the world, Arthur. Gotta say, your timing is impeccable.’
Deadpool star Morena – who also has son Julius, seven, with her ex-husband Austin Chick – revealed she was expecting another child with husband Ben in December last year.
During an appearance on the television show The Talk, she said: ‘What we now call date night is really honestly being able to take a walk outside together, but it heightens anxiety in the kids because we’re around all the time, so when we take a little time to ourselves, they’re like, “Where are you going?”’
‘Ben very cleverly found a way to get them involved and asked Frances to get him ready for the date.
‘I don’t think he was expecting blue nail polish and bracelets and everything, but I think it looks good on him.’
The hosts of The Talk asked if the date went well, prompting Brazilian star Morena to stand up and proudly show off her baby bump.
She exclaimed: ‘I think that date was pretty successful!’
The couple first met in 2014 on the set of their Batman prequel television series Gotham which finished in 2019 after five series and 100 episodes.
Ben played the role of detective and future commissioner James Gordon and Morena portrayed his eventual wife Dr. Lee Thompkins.
The famous pair got married at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens in New York in 2017 after their daughter Frances was born the previous year.
